Harry Allen, the brother of Arthur Allen, was a native of Fenny Bentley, where he was ‘universally respected and liked’, and a sidesman and member of the Parish Church choir. He volunteered for service at the beginning of the war, but was rejected on medical grounds, afterwards being called up.
